KANSAS CITY CHAPTER MISSION STATEMENT
To recruit, train, nurture and provide fundraising support to a diverse group of qualified young AMIGOS volunteers and their families.

AMIGOS MISSION STATEMENT
Amigos de las Americas builds partnerships to empower young leaders, advance community development and strengthen multi-cultural understanding in the Americas.
VISION STATEMENT
AMIGOS will become the premier organization for fostering youth
leadership through cultural exchange and community service in the
Americas. AMIGOS will lead the way in recruiting, training, and
deploying high school and college age youth from throughout the
Americas to volunteer in under-served communities. In partnership with
organizations, communities, and alumni, AMIGOS will contribute
effectively to programs that strengthen community health and
development in sustainable ways.
GOALS
1. Increase efficacy of programs and partnerships in
Latin America.
2. Increase fundraising capabilities of the
organization.
3. Enhance and stabilize human resources.
4. Maintain a qualified and diverse volunteer pool.
5. Maintain a robust chapter system.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES
AMIGOS commits:
1. To make the health and safety of our volunteers and field staff the
top priority in determining all organizational policies, procedures and
programs.
2. To provide young people with an exceptional training program and
multi-cultural opportunities in public service, community health and
leadership development.
3. To conduct youth-led community service programs that provide veteran
volunteers with opportunities to share their knowledge and to develop
ever-increasing leadership and mentoring skills.
4. To remain a not-for-profit organization that is not legally
affiliated with any religious organization and does not accept any
funds from the United States government.
5. To promote a diverse and multi-cultural environment in all facets of
the organization.
6. To act responsibly, conscientiously, collaboratively and with
integrity in all of our relationships.
7. To be an efficient and fiscally sound organization that maintains a
prudent capital investment program that will continue to grow its
capital base, and provide risk protection and development of human
resources.
8. To deliver quality programs that are affordable to volunteers.
9. To promote high levels of collaboration with youth, partner
organizations and communities in the Americas in effective and
sustainable projects that address communities' needs.
10. To promote and maintain synergistic relationships with Latin
American partners that are based on mutual respect, effective
communication and collaboration, and shared visions of enhanced
community development.
11. To support and expand a viable and effective chapter network and
Correspondent Volunteer Program.
12. To encourage veteran volunteers, chapter leaders and other
stakeholders to share their knowledge and be involved in AMIGOS at
local, national and international levels.
13. To foster new program ideas, continually improve and embrace
change.
